Abstract
This paper examines fishing-oriented “business as usual” in CCAMLR and suggests that it is time to reset the relation between conservation and fishing, and return to the objective of the convention of "conservation of Antarctic marine living resources" where fishing is only one element in CCAMLR’s considerations, and is considered in the contemporary reality of climate change and its impacts on the Antarctic marine biodiversity. This would allow CCAMLR to complete unfinished business with respect to marine protection, and ensure that the management of fisheries in a climate change context meets the requirements of Article II.
