    Resumen

Since 1995, the Chilean National Oceanographic Committee (CONA) has been organizing the so-called Marine Scientific Research Cruises in Remote Areas, better known as CIMAR. To date, research has focused mainly on the area of fjords and oceanic islands off continental Chile.  This year, and after having carried out 30 cruises, the CONA together with the support of the Ministry of Science, Technology, Knowledge and Innovation has organized the first CIMAR in Antarctica. CIMAR 1 Antartica will be executed between October 1 and 12, 2025 and considers 9 projects in the areas of geology, biogeochemistry and physics, and biology.
