    Abstract

We propose revising several conservation measures at CCAMLR-42 to improve monitoring of the krill stocks and the vessels participating in the krill fisheries (CCAMLR-42/XX). One of these improvements is to update CM 51-07 (2022) which specifies the interim distribution of the trigger level in the fishery for Euphausia superba in statistical subareas 48.1, 48.2, 48.3 and 48.4. The proposed update would require that Members harvesting krill coordinate to collect survey data relevant to the management of the fishery. The elements of the proposed amendments to CM 51-07 that appear in square brackets may require discussion by the Scientific Committee and Commission. Specific elements for discussion include the timing of the survey and transmission of survey data, and the specifications of mandatory research equipment.
