Enhancing the CCAMLR Search and Rescue (SAR) data request system: Updates and system improvements

As recommended by the Commission (SCIC-2023, paragraph 32, CCAMLR-42/11), the CCAMLR Secretariat facilitated the review and renewal of search and rescue (SAR) Arrangements held between the CCAMLR Secretariat and relevant maritime rescue coordination centres (MRCCs). In addition to this work, an improved system for authorised users has been developed, with the goal of enhancing the data request process during a SAR event, while also ensuring the reliability and security of VMS data distribution. The Secretariat seeks the Commission’s approval to further improve user management within the SAR request system.
