Comments on the recommendations from the Harmonisation Symposium from the D1MPA perspective

Several recommendations emerged from the Harmonisation Symposium including the scale of applicability of the harmonisation process, a potential staged approach among Subareas, the inclusion of additional buffer protection zones, new precautionary catch limits, the development of an integrated KFMA-D1MPA data collection plan and some requirements of a revision after a trial period for the implementation. This background paper aims to provide comments on the recommendations made during HS and highlight elements that from the D1MPA perspective require further discussions.
