    Resumen

The CCAMLR Ecosystem Monitoring Program (CEMP) was established in 1985 to detect and record significant changes in critical components of the marine ecosystem in the CCAMLR area. It uses standard methodologies to monitor a range of land-based marine predators. CEMP has remained largely unchanged since its inception, but with the increase in krill catch and spatial concentration of the krill fishery, there is an urgent need to review the efficacy of CEMP and consider how the program can be expanded to support the new approach to krill fishery management. We briefly review the CEMP, its current limitations and potential enhancements to provide a basis for discussions at WG-EMM 2023.
