Report on exploratory fishing operations in Subarea 48.6 between the 2012/13 and 2024/25 fishing seasons

This paper represents the report of a multi-member exploratory longline fisheries on Antarctic toothfish (Dissostichus
mawsoni) in Subarea 48.6 between 2012/13 and 2024/25 fishing seasons. 2024/25 fishing season is the first year of four years research plan during 2024/25-2027/28 by Japan, Korea, South Africa, and Spain (WG-FSAIMAF-2024/23). The data set, C2 and Observer data, were provided by the CCAMLR Secretariat on the 19th of July, 2025. In this paper, the data set during current fishing season (2024/25) were used for reporting the quantity of data, samples collected, and results of quick analysis as a progress toward research millstones. It is noted that the remaining catch allocation of the research block 2 will be exploited before the end of the 2024/25 fishing season.
