Collation of existing CCAMLR documents and discussions on marine protected areas

This document provides a history of the development of spatial planning and marine protected areas in CCAMLR from the earliest approaches in the 1990s, through the development of bioregionalization and MPA discussions in the 2000s and the adoption of the three existing Conservation Measures on MPAs, through to the present day discussions. It provides links to relevant background papers and reports and should provide sufficient background for Members to understand the issue.
