Résumé
WS-ADM2 discussed the importance of ageing works for young toothfish (WG-SAM-2024/14). However, due to the management measures for toothfish exploratory fishery in depths shallower than 550 m, where young fish may be present, opportunities to obtain samples of young fish are less than for adult fish. To address the request from participants of WS-ADM2, the Japanese scientists conducted the trial to identify daily growth increments in the otolith of a toothfish. A brief introduction of this trial works was given in the WG-SAM-2024. This document reports more details along with the process of the Japanese ageing works.
