The Russian Federation proposes the broad themes as scientific priorities for the five-year work plan of the Scientific Committee and considers a range of relevant scientific topics   that require a collective consensus solution.

Referring to   SC-CIRC 21’/171 and SC-CIRC 22/13, we invite the Symposium to draw attention to some of the procedural issues related to Symposium outcomes.

The New Zealand delegation would like to recommend that:

1. the Scientific Committee Symposium focus on the high-level strategic direction of work of the Scientific Committee; and
2. any tasks to be included in the Scientific Committee workplan should be accompanied by an outline of how the work will be accomplished.
