    Резюме

    Individual fishing events are classified by “type” in CCAMLR catch and effort, and haul by haul vessel reporting forms. The needs for these classifications have changed through time and currently the categories are not recorded in a consistent and coordinated manner, creating confusion for instructions and for any use of the data. This paper explains the current implementation of the classification types, identifies issues, and seeks comment on the future needs for fishing event type classification to develop a more streamlined approach.
