Initial Overview of External Environmental Data Sources Relevant for CCAMLR

Recognising the crucial role of reproducibility and transparency, the 2024 Ecosystem Monitoring and Management Working Group (WG-EMM-2024, paragraph 6.26) emphasised the need to better document environmental data sources, how they are accessed and analysed. This paper reports on the first steps taken to meet that need. We offer a provisional overview of external environmental data sources valuable to the CCAMLR research community. Complementing this, CCAMLR members are invited to fill out a survey to better understand how CCAMLR researchers and those involved in Antarctic marine conservation currently collect and process environmental data and which data sources they use.
