About results of age determination of the Dissostichus spp. and Macrourus spp. from the research longline catches in Subarea 48.1 by Ukrainian vessel CALIPSO in 2019–2021

During three fishing seasons 2018/19, 2019/20 and 2020/21 Ukrainian vessel CALIPSO (Fig. 1) conducted the research survey in Statistical Subarea 48.1 (Western part of the Weddell Sea). During the indicated period of research fishing by longlines, toothfish and grenadiers’ otoliths were collected to study the age. This paper presents some results of aging of Antarctic and Patagonian toothfish and two species of grenadiers performed and analyzed by Ukrainian scientists. The full-scale invasion of Russian troops into the territory of Ukraine in February 2022 made negative adjustments to the preparation of materials for this work.
