      1     Opening of the meeting

      Meeting will start with an introduction by the WG Convener and information to delegates of administrative, technical, and organizational matters.

      1.1     Introduction
      1.2     Adoption of the Agenda

      The Working Group will review, modify if necessary, and adopt the agenda for the meeting. The agenda for the meeting was developed following the decision by the Scientific Committee to arrange agendas by area.

      1.3     Review of the work plan

      The Working Group will note the terms of reference for the meeting as well as the current workplan set out in SC-CAMLR-42 Annex 15.

      1.4     Review of CCAMLR fisheries in 2023/2024 and notifications for 2024/2025

      The Working Group will consider the data on catches, performance of CCAMLR fisheries management operations in the 2023/24 season, relevant papers and consider notifications for fishing in the 2024/25 seasons that give context to the work of Working Group including recommendations from other Working Groups.

      2     Krill

      The Working Group will consider any krill fishery management issues brought forward from the working groups or workshops.

      3     Icefish

      The Working Group will consider work submitted on the biology, ecology and population status of icefish (Champsocephalus gunnari) in 48.3 and in 58.5.2 and provide advice to the Scientific Committee on catch limits

      The Working Group will consider research plans submitted under CM 24-01 targeting icefish and advise the Scientific Committee

      4     Toothfish

      The Working Group will discuss general issues that apply to the management of all toothfish stocks and consider individual stock assessments to develop advice to set catch limits for toothfish in the Convention Area

      4.1     General toothfish issues

      The Working Group will review general issues related to the biology, ecology, and research informing stock assessment, such as ageing, maturity or tagging studies.

      4.1.1     Biology, and ecology of target species
      4.1.2     Age determination for toothfish

      The Working Group will review outcomes of the second Ageing Workshop (WS-ADM2), including advice from WG-SAM-2024

      4.1.3     Conversion factors for toothfish

      The Working Group will consider work submitted on the determination and implementation of Conversion Factors for toothfish.

      4.2     Toothfish stock assessment workplan

      The Working group will discuss progress on the intersessional stock assessment workplan as described in SC-CAMLR-42 paragrpahs 2.117 - 2.127

      4.2.1     Focus topic of spatial bias in tag-based assessments

      Following the workplan from SC-CAMLR-42, the Working Group will review progress on addressing spatial bias in tag-based integrated stock assessments.

      4.2.2     Development of management strategy evaluations

      Working Group will consider papers regarding harvest decision rules and their implementation using management strategy evaluations

      4.2.3     Dissostichus eleginoides in Subarea 48.3

      The Working Group will review data inputs and review stock assessments for toothfish in Subarea 48.3.

      4.2.4     Dissostichus eleginoides in Division 58.5.1

      The Working Group will review data inputs and review stock assessments for toothfish in Division 58.5.1.

      4.2.5     Dissostichus eleginoides in Division 58.5.2

      The Working Group will review data inputs and review stock assessments for toothfish in Division 58.5.2

      4.2.6     Dissostichus mawsoni in Subarea 88.1 and SSRUs 882AB

      The Working Group will review data inputs and review stock assessments for toothfish in the Ross Sea, including results from the Ross Sea shelf survey

      4.2.7     Dissostichus eleginoides in Subarea 48.4

      The Working Group will review data inputs and review stock assessments for Patagonian toothfish in Subarea 48.4

      4.2.8     Dissostichus mawsoni in Subarea 48.4

      The Working Group will review data inputs and consider the trend analysis results for Antarctic toothfish in Subarea 48.4, including results of the trend analysis estimates of biomass

      4.3     Exploratory Fisheries with research plans

      The Working Group will consider the advice of WG-SAM-2024 on Exploratory fisheries with research plans that were reviewed by WG-SAM-24, the recommendations from WG-SAM-24 and the trend analysis results to provide advice to the Scientific Committee on implementation and catch limits..

      4.4     Research plans targeting toothfish notified under CM 24-01

      The Working Group will consider the reviews by WG-SAM-2024 on research plans submitted under CM 24-01, including new and existing research plans and plans and advise the Scientific Committee on their implemnetatin and catch limits.

      4.5     Other areas (58.4.3a, 58.4.3b and regions of 58.5.1, 58.5.2, 58.6, 58.7 outside national jurisdiction)

      The Working Group will consider any changes to prohibitions for directed fishing of toothfish in other areas of the Convention

      5     Non-target catch and incidental mortality associated with fishing

      The Working Group will review work regarding the management of bycatch in krill and toothfish fisheries, including potential impacts to VMEs and habitat

      5.1     Fish by-catch (macrourids, skates, other)

      The Working Group will review work on the status and management of macrourids, skates, and other fishes

      5.2     By-catch management in krill fisheries

      The Working Group will review work on bycatch in krill fisheries

      5.3     VME management and habitants of particular concern

      The Working Group will review work on VMEs and other habitat impacts of fishing

      5.4     Incidental mortality associated with fishing (IMAF)

      The co-conveners s of WG-IMAF will lead consideration of high priority IMAF agenda items

      5.4.1     Review of current and emerging incidental mortality issues in CCAMLR fisheries

      The Working Group will review current and emerging IMAF issues in CCAMLR fisheries

      5.4.2     Reporting on net monitoring cable trial on continuous trawlers

      The Working Group will consider the status of the net monitoring cable trial

      5.4.3     Mitigation methods for marine mammals

      The Working Group will review mitigation methods for marine mammal interactions in CCAMLR fisheries

      5.4.4     Mitigation methods for seabirds

      The Working Group will review mitigation methods for seabird interactions in CCAMLR fisheries

      5.4.5     Data collection needs from seabird and marine mammal interactions

      The Working Group will review data collection needs to better manage seabird marine mammal interactions

      5.4.6     Review of WG-IMAF work programme and future work

      The Working Group will review and suggest revisions to the current IMAF workplan

      6     Scheme of International Scientific Observation

      The Working Group will consider issues relating to observer tasking, tagging protocols, and relevant discussions from working groups and workshops.

      7     Future work

      The Working Group will integrate items of future work into their workplan, and discuss intersessional work including any proposed workshops.

      8     Other business

      The Working Group will consider any items submitted under Other Business

      9     Advice to the Scientific Committee

      Advice from all agenda items is consolidated for SC-CAMLR-43
