Notification for the Ross Sea shelf survey in 2024: second year of an approved three-year research plan. Research plan under CM 24-01, paragraph 3 – Continuing Research

The Ross Sea shelf survey has been conducted annually since 2012, with the most recent revised proposal presented in 2023 and spanning three years (2023–2025). This paper:

• serves as notification for the 2024 survey under CM 24-01 following the survey design proposed in WG-SAM-22/01 Rev. 1 and WG-FSA-2022/41 Rev.1, following the same design as last proposed in WG-SAM-17/39 and approved by Scientific Committee, with annual notifications in WG-FSA-18/41, WG-SAM-19/03, SC-CAMLR-39-BG-03, and WG-SAM-2021/02,
• fulfils the requirement for a self-assessment of research proposals,
• provides updated information needed for CM 24-05,
• updates the milestone achievement table.
