This document is a selected summary of some of the analyses, tests and results which were undertaken to explore patterns of fishing and tagging effort over time as presented in the primary document (Masere et al. 2024). The inclusion of this material is intended to not only provide support for the findings presented in the main paper yet also as a demonstration of some of the additional points of discussion that were undertaken by the authors working on this paper.
This document provides supporting materials, summaries and results under the following headings:
- Exploratory graphs to visualise the assumptions of the Chapman mark-recapture estimator
- Exploring simulation situations with a population size of the same order of magnitude as the fishery data set
- Tagging concentration and recapture probability figures
- Testing of sensitivity of cell size (resolution) for the Correspondence Analysis
- Hierarchical classification of the Correspondence Analysis
- Testing of sensitivity of cell size for the Dissimilarity matrix
As much of this material is area-specific the CCAMLR Division or Subarea is listed in square brackets at the start of each figure or table title to ensure the area under investigation is known.
