    Abstract

Dissostichus mawsoni (Antarctic toothfish) and Dissostichus eleginoides (Patagonian toothfish) are the most sought-after fish species in the Southern Ocean for fisheries and, as a consequence of the Convention, for the research of its biology, aspects of fishery and conservation of its resources. Ukraine proposes to conduct a local three years (three season) longline survey of Dissostichus spp. in the statistical Subarea 48.2, beginning from the 2025/2026 fishing season. The main objectives of the research are to determine the abundance, the spatial distribution and population structure of Dissostichus spp. at the Eastern part of Subarea 48.2.
