The Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) Annual Report to CCAMLR 2024/25

This paper presents the annual report of the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) to CCAMLR. SCAR reports on its recent and future activities of relevance to the Scientific Committee and the Commission. SCAR groups, such as INSTANT and AntClimNow, continue to conduct crucial scientific research on the Antarctic climate system and Antarctica’s contribution to the global sea-level. A new SCAR Action Group on Climate was established to address other critical climate issues. In 2025, the SC-ATS/Ant-ICON Fellowship welcomed three new Fellows who attended either the ATCM and CEP meetings or the WG-EMM and SC-CAMLR meetings.
