    Abstract

To help build resilience of fisheries and ecosystems in the face of climate change, the Australian Fisheries Management Authority, Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) and the University of Tasmania have developed an adaptation planning handbook. This handbook is designed to guide fisheries managers, scientists and industry through a risk assessment process that can identify feasible options for responding to climate change.

The Handbook combines adaptive and ecosystem-based management approaches in the face of climate change, and presents a potential approach for CCAMLR’s consideration of climate risk to fisheries that can help to inform its management decisions and adaptive management responses.
