The krill fishery management strategy endorsed by CCAMLR in 2019 requires: krill biomass estimates, a yield model to estimate harvest rates, and a Spatial Overlap Analysis (previously Risk Assessment) to spread the catch limit among Management Units. We report on the progress toward conducting the Spatial Overlap Analysis in Subarea 48.3. Layers representing krill consumption by demersal fish, mesopelagic fish, penguins, fur seals, and cetaceans have been created or sourced from previously published work. We provide a description of the data sources, and analyses for each layer, and highlight layers that will be created or updated in the near future following compilation of available data. Preliminary analyses and layers pertaining to krill distribution in summer are also presented. We finish by highlighting some key sources of uncertainty and bias specific to each layer and identify krill-dependent predator species that are not currently represented in our analyses to date.
