Comments on the draft of the conservation measure for an East Antarctic marine protected area

Despite lengthy scientific discussions regarding the establishment of an East Antarctic Marine Protected Area (the EAMPA), there are still issues related to the scientific and legal aspects of this MPA that require clarification.

Taking into account the above, we consider it appropriate to make a number of comments in relation to the Draft conservation measure for an East Antarctic Marine Protected Area, especially since the Russian Federation has been an active participant in the discussion of  documents on the EAMPA at CCAMLR  sessions.
