    Резюме

Siegert et al. (2023) seeks to describe the kind of extreme environmental events that have been observed in Antarctica in recent years that are significantly different to the average ranges of variability across a variety of realms (ocean, atmosphere, cryosphere, biosphere etc). The paper considers the likely causes and implications of such phenomena and concludes that such extreme events are virtually certain to become more frequent and more intense if the ambition of the Paris Climate Agreement is not met.
