    Резюме

New research on reproductive development suggests that female Antarctic krill in the northern and western regions of the Antarctic Peninsula may mature and initiate reproduction at the end of winter in response to environmental and climate conditions. Early maturation could increase reproductive output by lengthening the spawning season and increasing the number of spawning events in a given season. This paper adds insight for the Krill Stock Hypothesis, informing the reproductive dynamics of krill in Subarea 48.1.
