Abstract
ARK continues working on the implementation process of the new Krill Fishery Management approach (KFMA). This year, ARK collaborated on updating krill survey protocols, an essential requirement for frequent krill stock evaluations. We co-sponsored and participated in the Harmonization Workshop, a key initiative to advance the MPA and KFMA efforts. In addition to these CCAMLR initiatives, ARK continues supporting krill surveys in Subareas 48.1 and 48.2, collaborating with scientists from China and Norway, respectively. Finally, ARK continued implementing the ARK-VRZ, an interim measure to protect crucial penguin colonies during their breeding in Subarea 48.1.
