Documenting the Spatial Overlap Analyses as a contribution to documenting the krill fishery management approach

To aid with review and documentation of the krill fishery management approach we have compiled details of the analyses conducted using the Spatial Overlap Analysis tool to derive candidate management units and proportional krill catch allocations to seasons and management units for approximately 50% of Subarea 48.1. Members can use this information to implement Spatial Overlap Analyses and evaluate the proportional krill catch allocations presented in SC-CAMLR-41 (Table 2) and WG-EMM-2025 (Table 8). We recommend that the Scientific Committee arranges a review of this information to identify any errors or omissions. We also recommend that the Scientific Committee considers whether the appendix is a useful template for compilation of information on other aspects of the krill fishery management approach, such that any proposed set of spatially and seasonally resolved catch limits can be reproduced.
