    Abstract

In 2024 a group of research experts within the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) formed an Action Group focused on fish: “SCARFISH”. SCARFISH aims to bring together research communities by facilitating knowledge exchange, improving coordination of priorities, disseminating recent research developments, navigating data sharing, and broadening participation in these communities from currently underrepresented groups. In this paper, SCARFISH provides updates on progress towards its objectives, connections to CCAMLR, and details on its new ongoing Working Groups. These Working Groups include: Horizon Scan; Biology and Life History; Biogeography, Modelling and Management tools; Genomics, Physiology and Pathology; Fieldwork; Data; and Outreach. SCARFISH encourages widespread participation from the CCAMLR community.
