    Résumé

In this paper Ukraine outlines the main challenges faced by its National Antarctic Program in the context of a prolonged hybrid war and the current full-scale military intervention of the Russian Federation.

Such document was originally presented by Ukraine at the recent 41th Antarctic Treaty Consultative Meeting (Berlin, 23 May – 2 June, 2022) as Information Paper 085 rev.1, and widely discussed at the open plenary session. Most Parties expressed their solidarity with Ukraine, and condemned Russia’s unjustifiable, unprovoked and illegal war against Ukraine (41th ATCM Final Report paragraphs 35-40).

Ukraine believes that lessons learned from current situation should be duly taken into account by other CCAMLR Parties and become a platform for further consultations to adjust our Commission to emerging challenges.
